Work from home!

  • Stay at home orders have placed Palisadians, together with people all over the world, in a grand experiment where working from home has become “normal” for those with some kinds of jobs.
  • Working from home instead of driving to work, or flying to meetings, dramatically reduces fossil fuel emissions.
  • There are many reasons why companies that have experienced work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic may be motivated to continue work-from-home practices. As stay at home orders are loosened and ultimately expire, advocate to retain some level of working from home.

Reduce Car Travel Emissions

  • Plan to walk, bike, carpool or use public transit for a route that you would normally drive. Walk the kids to school, cycle somewhere, take the bus to see a movie in Santa Monica, or carpool with a friend.
  • If you drive a gas or diesel car, consider getting an EV.
