Monarch Butterfly Day of Action

Join the Santa Monica Mountains Fund as they discuss the importance of planting and gardening with local native Milkweed species and learn how to do it! Ranger Master and Antonio Sanchez, nursery manager and restoration volunteer coordinator for Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, will lead this hands-on workshop where you will:
– Learn about the unique relationship between local milkweed and Monarchs
– Learn about the best spots in your garden for native Milkweed
– Learn about the best early and late flowering plants for Monarchs and other pollinators
– Learn how to plant Narrowleaf Milkweed seed
Meet at the Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas. Registered participants will be given milkweed seed packets at the end of the workshop.
