Thinking about composting? How do you begin? Already composting but would like help?
Bring your questions to three of your Palisades neighbors who together have 27 years of composting experience.
About our panelists:
Beverley Auerbach and Bart Lynn are longtime Palisades homeowners who came to composting about ten years ago as part of a natural move toward sustainability. Composting has substantially reduced their trash and has led to fertility in their raised bed gardens without the need for synthetic fertilizers.
Valeria Serna, Pali High class of ’01 and Palisades resident, has composted for the past seven years to reduce her carbon footprint. She recycles food scraps, garden clippings, and locally sourced manure into compost to restore nutrients to the soil, thus creating a closed-loop system attracting birds and wildlife to the native Gardens she manages. Valeria is also a member of the Resilient Palisades Zero Waste and Plant-Based Solutions teams.
