After two years of virtual tours, Theodore Payne’s 2022 Native Plant Garden Tour will be back in-person on April 23 & 24. Spotlighting 30+ gardens across the city, this two-day journey will bring together the plants and people that make Southern California one of the most unique and biodiverse places on the planet. Highlights include 10+ new gardens, a new stylized tour guide filled with vivid stories and interviews, and an after-party at L.A. State Historic Park.
The Theodore Payne Native Plant Garden Tour is a unique adventure. Since 2003, more than 600 public and private landscapes have participated in the Native Plant Garden Tour. Ranging from coastal container gardens to modernist foothill estates to experimental urban homesteads, each unique design offers beauty and critical habitat for wildlife in one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.
The gardens are divided into two groups:
Each ticket includes admission for a single visitor to all gardens across both days, admission to the after-party, a printed color guide with addresses and driving directions. The tour is self-guided, so you can make your own itinerary and go at your own pace. Tickets and tour guides will be mailed starting in early March. Children under 16 do not require a ticket.
